Research Scientist (MR)

Summary of Position

CMRU has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist in our Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) business unit located in Mayfield Village, an eastern suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.

The Research Scientist will research, design, prototype, and productize new MRI technologies for Canon Medical MRI scanners. A key role for this scientist will be working in small teams to develop acquisition and reconstruction software to support clinical MR methods.

Senior Software Engineer, MR

Mayfield Village, OH

Summary of Position

CMRU has an immediate opening for a Senior Software Engineer in the MR software team to participate in developing reconstruction software for our MR product line. This position works independently and within a cross functional team to deliver MR reconstruction features and solutions for multiple platforms and product releases.


  • Write application software for a Linux-like system using C++.
  • Build and maintain software test infrastructure.
  • Work with MR physicists to implement algorithms for MR reconstruction systems, and help support and train them for product software development.
  • Analyze product and system level requirements and translate to software specifications.
  • Design and implement solutions to complex data management and distributed processing software problems in the reconstruction platform domain.
  • Optimize software to obtain optimum performance on available computation hardware.
  • Plan and perform integration activities at component, sub-system and system levels.
  • Work independently within a cross-functional team without continuous supervision.
  • Understand research and industry trends in the area of MR reconstruction and MR image processing applications.
